2nd Sports Carnival organised for kids Students of as many as 11 schools of Greater Noida participated in the 2nd Sports Carnival that was organised by Aster Public School recently in the team events of soccer (boys and girls) and basketball (girls).  The final day lived up to every one's expectation. In football (boys), the final match was played between D.P.S., Greater Noida and Aster Public School, Greater Noida. The host team came out as winners and won the trophy by vanquishing D.P.S. The runnersup trophy was given to D.P.S. Greater Noida. The third place was secured by Lotus Valley School.In football (girls) the first position was bagged by Father Agnel School followed by Lotus Valley School in the second place and Aster Public School in the third spot.In basketball (girls) St. Joseph School took the first place, Aster Public School stood second and the third place was secured by Father Agnel School.On the third day, the programme started with the prize distribution ceremony. The Principal handed over the trophy and distributed certificates to all the teams who bagged top positions. The rolling trophy was awarded to Aster Public School for their overall performance. The most promising players of the carnival were Rocky Rani from Father Agnel School in the football (girls) category, Yashdeep Mawi from Aster Public School in football (boys) category and Nidhi Biju from St. Joseph basketball (girls) category. They were presented with a trophy and certificate.The Principal Sunil Saxena thanked the team of teachers and the sports department for their dedicated efforts. He appreciated the vigour, zeal and enthusiasm of young sportspersons. He believed that success is a journey and not a destination and was determined to take the road to excellence in continuing the journey when Aster Public School will be hosting the National Soccer Girls in January 2013.The function ended with the national anthem and everyone left the ground with a pride on their face.Information gathered from Internet from Click Here
