G.d.goenka, Gurgaon hosts science contest THE HINDUSTAN TIMES17-DECEMBER 2012G.D.Goenka World School, Gurgaon hosted the fourth interschool science competition' Goenkan Scienamite ' on the theme 'Celebrating a sustainable world- Cherish it, Conserve it.' The event included a gamut of activities the big fight (debate), unravel the universe (quiz), traditional treasures (poster design competition). The judges included Purti Kohli from British Council, Prof. H C Joshi, Padamjeet Sherawat, Dr Sanjay Gupta, Prof Ashok Aggarwal, Anuradha Tewari and Dr Kim Menezes. The programme commenced with a welcome address by principal Neeta Bali. The overall winner was the host school but the trophy was awarded to the first runner-up, Amity International School, Sector 43 Gurgaon. ASN Senior Sec. School, Mayur Vihar hosted the opening ceremony of 2nd ASN Yamuna wealth inter- school games and cultural fest in the school premises. Rakesh Khanna, additional solicitor general of India inaugurated the theme based exhibition 'Yamuna Saga'. Arjun awardee Akhil Kumar was the chief guest. A musical ballet 'SAVE GIRL CHILD' was staged.The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony in the presence of Prof. Dr. Kiran Walia, minister for education. Principal Sonia Luthra welcomed the gathering and felicitated the dignitaries. Sachdeva Public School, Rohini was declared the overall winner. Manava Bharati India International, Panchsheel Park held its annual day recently. Dr. Sead Avdic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the guest of honour. The invocation ceremony commenced with the lighting of lamp by the guest of honour, the Chairman of the School Captain V.K. Pandey and Principal Bharati Pandey. The annual report was presented by the principal and the achievers were awarded.TARANG "The Waves of Life" was the theme for the annual cultural festival which included a plethora of cultural events including dramatics, music and dance. The students presented a Nukkad Natak---' Ghoomta Aina Badalti Tasvir' which was followed by a dance ballet on river 'Ganga'. Army Public School, Noida celebrated its 17th annual prize distribution ceremony and field display. Lt Gen Satish Nambiar PVSM , AVSM , VRC Padma Bhusan and Lt Gen A Mukherjee AVSM, director general artillery graced the occasion as the chief guests. Brig. Dinesh Chaddha, Commander 261 Arty Brigade and chairman of the school were also present. The event began with the welcome address given by principal Anita Shah and was followed by the prize distribution ceremony for the achievers.
